An Earnest Goodbye

While flowers  were swaying, losing their petals
Such precious little time with you
Your head bowed just a little,
A brief moment of goodbyes.

Both laughing even while crying.
The rain dancing across the meadow
Joined the tears to fall down,
In unusual silence, you vaguely walked away.

Sorrow wrapped gratingly around
Around the still beating heart
When something is inside our  heart,
we  couldn’t have it on our arms.
